CHILDREN'S EYECARE

SPECS FOR KIDS

Regular eye exams are important for children's eyesight. One in five schoolchildren have an undiagnosed eye problem. Most children learn best through visual means. Therefore, most children cannot see well enough or enjoy everyday childhood activities to their fullest extent. If a child doesn't realise if their vision isn't clear, they assume the way they normally see is normal. Regular eye exams are recommended for all children under the ages of 16 at least once per year.

OUR USUAL PROCEDURE

HOW IT WORKS?

We value our time with our patients. We will make sure you leave with a prescription perfect for you.

As with most medical conditions, the earlier an eye problem is detected the better the chances of successful treatment. However, in most situations, kids aren’t even conscious of having an eye condition, so don’ t rely on them to tell when they need to see an ophthalmologist. If you have trouble seeing the board or reading, it can lead to difficulties with concentration, disruptive behaviour, and even a loss of interest in education altogether For this reason, you need to make sure that your child has their eyes checked regularly.

Did you know that your children can be tested for eye problems at an early age? Regular eye examinations allow our qualified and experienced opticians to spot any potential problems before they become serious.

If you want an early diagnosis, we recommend an initial examination by an ophthalmologist between the ages of four and five years old. However, if you have any concerns, or if there is a family history of lazy eye or strabismus, you may want to get them checked out sooner.

Did you know your kids can have their eyes tested from as young as one year old? Regular eye examinations allow our qualified and experienced opticians to spot any potential problems before they become serious.

If you're concerned about your child's vision, we recommend an initial eye exam by his/her fourth birthday, but earlier if there is a history or concern for lazy eye or squinting.
